Traffic is the lifeblood of any business. Regardless of whether you operate a real world store or an online store, you need people to at least enter your store. If the store isn't that great, or if your products are not that great, then they'll leave - BUT - how do you get folks to enter your store in the first place?

Since this site is not about real-world stores, let's just concentrate on ways to get traffic to our websites...

  1. Make sure that your site ranks high in the SE's (Search-Engines). This will bring you a lot of generic traffic (regular SE traffic from the results pages when people look for the particular word that your site has been "optimized for").

  2. Use pay-per-click advertising to pin-point folks that are looking to buy what you're selling.

  3. Get "link-back". Link-backs are one-way links from other sites. This will not only cause you to get some extra visits but these link-backs cause the Search-Engines to think that your site is an important one. As a result, the SE's will eventually rank your site higher and higher...and consequently you'll get more generic traffic from the SE's.

  4. You could also try Traffic Exchanges...try the ones listed below

What happens with these Traffik-Xchanges is that they are set up to automatically display websites within your browser. The people who have signed up to the Traffik-Xchanges must view each others sites! After around every 20 seconds, a new site is displayed. For every two sites that you view, your site is usually displayed once - this 2:1 deal is the usual accepted ratio.
